How We Validate Plastic Credits
R3chain provides tools for every link in the plastics value chain to ensure that every plastic credit has full traceability and credibility, supporting the shift towards a circular economy.
Proof of process: recording all relevant data on the blockchain, the operations date, name and address of the end-of-life destination.
The plastic waste is then transported to the recycling facility for further processing.
The end-of-life destination
Proof of Weight: billed weight, invoice to verify the weight.
Collection / Sorting Center
The collected plastic waste is then taken to a collection center, where it is weighed. The weight of the plastic is verified at the sorting center.
Proof of Collection: AI CV validation photos and videos of the plastic waste source.
Plastic is collected from waste sources such as clean-up events, actions for the removal of marine plastics, recycle bins and other collection activity.
Proof of recycle: depending on the recycling type (Reprocessing, Mechanical recycling or Chemical recycling), different proof documents of weight are recorded.
Our platform generates two types of plastic credit: Plastic Removed (collection) Credit and Plastic Recycled Credit. The quantity of plastic recycle credit is only for recycled weights without non-recycled plastic waste after the process.

Proof of Retirement on Blockchain
The process of permanently removing or retiring plastic credits from circulation after they have been used to offset plastic footprint. This process involves recording the retirement data, such as the date and amount of plastic credits retired, on a blockchain platform, which provides a secure and transparent method for tracking the retirement of credits. Blockchain is ensuring that credits are retired only once and cannot be double-counted.
